The best word for describing the watch 'Nautilo 42mm' in black with rubber strap by Anonimo might be 'cool'. The design is inspired by the diving watches developed by Dino Zei who was part of the team when the brand 'Anonimo' was founded in 1997 in Florence. The name references the in many cases anonymously working watchmakers. Today, the brand is headquartered in Le Locle, Switzerland. Photo: © Anonimo.
The second piece on this page, the swim shorts, were presented on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the brand Vilebrequin. The brand's story begins in Saint Tropez with the love story between Yvette and Fred Prysquel. Fred was a motor journalist, especially his experiences as a worldwide traveling Formula 1 reporter are mentioned at the company's website. The wider swim shorts, the Moorea trunks were absolutely new at the French riviera and Fred Prysquel started a trend. The brand name references the engine of a car; 'vilebrequin' means translated from French to English 'crankshaft'. The 50th anniversary collection (limited edition) consists of swim shorts in designs inspired by the last five decades. At vilebrequin.com/eu/en/50thanniversary-men-swimsuits, the one on view on this page is presented with reference to the brand's charity collaboration with French Polynesian nonprofit 'Te Mana O Te Moana' translated from Maori 'Spirit of the Ocean' for the protection of sea turtles and in relation to the use of recycled and recyclable materials.
