Insights into the 1st day of the MQ Vienna Fashion Week

Yesterday, the MQ Vienna Fashion Week kicked off with the opening show of the best-of selection from the collections of the participating design labels, such as Callisti, whose designer Martina Mueller-Callisti posed in front of the attending photographers and journalists in a golden shimmering satin dress. The regular Callisti show is traditionally one of the most attended of the fashion week. This year, it will take place on 14 September. A popular photo opportunity this evening were the cheerful designers and the team of the Commercial Office of the Royal Thai Embassy Vienna, whose show 'Take Off' is scheduled for the same day as Callisti's, 14 September, which makes this evening very promising.

Fashion.at talked to Wolfgang Reichl, the creative head behind the fashion productions for the 'Mode Wien' magazine and the events of the Vienna State Guild of Fashion and Clothing Technology (Landesinnung Wien der Mode und Bekleidungstechnik) in recent years, about the upcoming 'Mode Wien en suite' days with an exhibition of the art collaboration between Markus Hofer X Mode Wien under the title 'Anziehende Objekte' with an attached shop from 21 until 27 September at the headquarters of the guild at Fütterergasse 1 in the city's 1st district. The collaboration with Markus Hofer began several years ago. And now, within the framework of the 'Vienna City Gallery Walk', is the right moment to present the two art collections 'Siebzehn' and 'Rosa Luxemburg'.

Fashion.at met one of the founders of the Vienna Fashion Week and curator of the Thai show, Zigi Mueller-Matyas, who is behind the idea of the 'Take Off' show, which emphasizes the mutual influence of Austrian and Thai fashion and art (article).

The evening's drinks included brands such as Red Bull Organics and the new Austrian alpine water brand 'Blue Bomb', recently founded by a Red Bull executive.
