In December 2024, Gössl encountered financial difficulties and subsequently filed for insolvency. The company attributed its struggles to the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, shifts in consumer behavior, rising energy costs, and obligations related to the repayment of government support funds. As part of its restructuring efforts, Gössl decided to consolidate its operations into a single entity, Gössl Gwand GmbH, which will handle both production and sales. However, Gössl GmbH, the production arm of the company, is being closed as part of the restructuring plan. Despite these challenges, Gössl's retail stores remain open, and the brand aims to continue its legacy through a streamlined business model.

Auction Details and Schedule

Aurena announced the auction on its website and via the Austrian Press Agency. The auctions are scheduled as follows:

- March 30, 2025, 2:30 p.m.: Dirndls, shoes, lederhosen, and other traditional clothing items.

- April 3, 2025: Winter sports equipment, ski hiking gear, and sporting goods.

- April 6, 2025: Dirndls, accessories, aprons, and related items.

Bidding is already open for these auctions, with the first winning bids to be determined on March 30. The extensive catalog includes premium clothing for men, women, and children, as well as accessories such as scarves, belts, and hats.
