20 May 2018 Fashion.at continues the series of gastro tips with a look at a marina nearby Vienna. Today's tip concerns not only the location but also the current culinary fashion in Austria caused by global and regional trends. The location is around 30 minutes away from the city borders of Vienna. The restaurant Mole West is one of the rare destinations which are recommended by Fashion.at even because of the quality of the served dishes. The use of seasonal fresh ingredients such as strawberries - currently is strawberry time in Austria, for dishes like panna cotta with mint (on view at the image right) is signature for the Fine Casual Dining-philosophy of Mole West. Apple cider is a new fashionable beverage in Austria. According to statistics, cider in general is globally trending. The apple drink (bottle on view at the image) is an alcoholic beverage - only if there is anybody who doesn't know that the fruity juice contains approximately as much alcohol as beer (glass at the picture right). So it has to be drunken carefully even when the cider by 'Stibitzer' tastes like a mix of apple juice with champagne or sparkling wine. It's a very fine taste. Stibitzer is a new brand by one of the most important Austrian beer brewers Brau Union (belongs to Heineken). The word 'Stibitzer' is an Austrian dialect term for stealing with wit and without harming others essentially. The logo visualizes the meaning of the word 'Stibitzer' with an example from the fauna - a clever fox - living in the regions where even the apples come from. Stibitzer publishes a summary of the used sweet and sour apple varieties harvested in Styria, Lower and Upper Austria. |
