Viennese traditional café and dessert store chain Aida launched a collection of macarons with CBD (Cannabidiol)

After Austrian lawmakers allow the use of CBD (Cannabidiol), even the creativity of cookie and dessert makers has been stimulated and the first products already hit Viennese cafés.

Earlier this month, the popular (listed under USA Today's 10 best desserts & coffee destinations in Vienna) Café-Konditorei chain 'Aida' launched a chocolate cake with CBD; the 'Orange Kush' brownies with CBD are decorated with green hemp leaves (FB post). The visual plays with the image of the plant as drug even when the dessert contains CBD which is not intoxicating and contains maximal 0,2% THC. The new product received - for a dessert extraordinary much, attention by Austrian media such as - to name a few, ORF, Der Standard, Kurier or Heute; last mentioned publication points out the beginning of a new trend.

Recently on 20 September, Aida presented three additional desserts with CBD; the macaron 'White Widow', 'Purple Haze' and 'Northern Lights'.
