Sacher Artists' Collection presents Friedrich von Amerling for support of health project 'Austria's Heartkids'

Since 2009, Austria's most prominent cake (German 'Torte') gets each year an artful special edition for collecting money for health projects or institutions which change each year such as the selected artists. Gottfried Helnwein provided in 2018 work to the Sacher Artists' Collection, Heimo Zobernig in 2017, Erwin Wurm in 2016,... the list can be read like a top ranking of Austrian artists.

Now in 2019, it's the first time that a non-contemporary artist is included into the Sacher Collection. This year, the Original Sacher Torte is packed into a wooden box showing the 'Portrait of Princess Marie Franziska von Liechtenstein (1834–1909) at the age of two years' painted by Friedrich von Amerling in 1836; contributed by the Liechtenstein Princely Collections for the charity. This year, Austria's Heartkids (Herzkinder Österreich) will receive financial support through the sale of the limited edition of 555 boxes. It's announced that the total proceeds of over €33,000 will benefit the 'Herzkinder Österreich' association.
