 The expansion of the Viennese Café Patisserie Aida has already been a topic on Fashion.at in recent months (article). Now, Aida has released views of the latest new destination outside of Austria. It's an important milestone in the global expansion of Aida. The opening of the first store in the Middle East, located at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, took place on November 15th. The new café features an open, airy, light-filled architecture that appears almost featherweight. The gastronomic locations are generally built according to the creative concept of Aida's owners, the Prousek family, and realized with local architectural firms. For the expansion, Aida is supported by SSP, a global leader in travel food and beverage services. The Aida in Jeddah is the largest food and beverage unit at the airport, covering 284 square meters and featuring a spacious seating area for 150 guests and a takeaway section. Operating 24 hours a day, the Jeddah outlet offers a variety of Aida's signature coffee drinks, traditional Viennese pastries and local adaptations such as halal-certified treats, ensuring that the brand meets regional preferences while maintaining the high standards for which it is known, representing the timeless charm of Viennese coffeehouse culture. This year, Aida has continued to expand its presence beyond Austria. Since 2023, the family-owned brand has made significant strides in its international growth, bringing its iconic Austrian coffeehouse culture to new locations. The cafe's expansion journey began with openings in Germany, where AÏDA established outlets at Munich Airport and Berlin Central Station. These new locations marked the brand's first ventures outside of Austria. The momentum continued into 2024, with plans for another opening in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava, further expanding Aida's reach in Europe. In a phone call today, Fashion.at was told that the Bratislava opening will take place in the next few days.
