The retrospective features over 250 works by Cindy Sherman from 1975 to 2005. One of the artist’s famous series is entitled "Clowns". Behind the friendly figure of the Clown watches out the bad guy of a Stephen King movie. The ambiguous presentation is significant for Sherman's work and is her reflection on the mysteries of the human existence.

Sherman works with masquerade, fashion, and even prostheses to explore cultural and social stereotypes and their representation in the media. Some of her works are brutal and play with the horror effect. The staring model in her staged images is Cindy Sherman herself. next>>>
