TOM BURR: ADDICT - LOVE 13 January - 30 March 2008 SculptureCenter, Long Island City, NY Tom Burr packs wit and melancholy in a theatrically arrangement of a vintage 1970s Chanel dress, vintage turntable, record and album cover of "Four Saints in Three Acts" composed by Virgil Thomson, libretto by Gertrude Stein (written in the late 1920ies) to narrate the history of modernity, personalities and its style. Enjoy Burr's sculptures made of citations from film, theater, music, architecture, and various underground cultures questioning the foundations of identity construction
