Art meets fashion to
practice sustainability

In September, the Italian screen printer Canedicoda will make artworks on the jeans of visitors on occasion of the 'Re-Denim' days in Replay stores in Paris and Barcelona. In Paris, the store will become a dance floor, heated up by DJ Nihilisme.

The Paris event will be the 2nd Re-Denim date. On the artist's first Re-Denim day in Berlin from 30 June until 1 July 2009, Canedicoda has printed 106 unique pieces in 3 days.

Thinking former times, act in presence and build the future

2009, the Italian denim brand Replay, founded 1978 by Claudio Buziol, proclaims the 'Re-'year: in spring, Replay invited to send entries (a piece composed of text, drawing, a photograph or a painting) inspired by the 'RE-'concept, namely REpetition, REinvention, RE-elaboration (closing date was the 18th July 2009).

At the same time, the stores of Replay become think-tanks and art-performance stages for practising 're-elaborating' and 're-making'. For Replay, the prefix 're' stands for 'repetition'; aim of Replay's campaign is to select the best of former times and 're-play' it. The product of one art event at a store in Paris is the 'Re-Fish' by artist Ivan Bonesso who works on the theme 'recycling' www.replay.it.
