The glamorous and 'dark' sides of fashion and beauty Main themes of the provocative HBO special is the glamorous world of fashion and beauty super models as well as the 'dark' sides of the business such as substance abuse, race and plastic surgery. Carmen Dell'Orefice says about cosmetic surgery: "Well, if you had the ceiling falling down in your living room, would you not go and have a repair?" Model and actress Isabella Rossellini offers a different perspective, wondering, "Is this the new foot binding? Is this a new way to be misogynist? Is this a new way to tell women that you are ugly?" And Jerry Hall adds, "Of course it's no fun getting old and sick and dying. We all know that's coming and it's a bore," she says. "Why shouldn't we be allowed to age?" On 31 July, HBO Connect invites to the Live Q&A with Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. Submit your questions on connect.hbo.com. Video: Trailer 'About Face: Supermodels Then And Now' |
