In front of Marcus Fried and Rosa Lladró, four 'The Guest' figurines of the collaborative art project which was initiated by Jaime Hayon. The figurines in thrilling mouse-puppet-streetart look could be soulmates of Yoshitomo Nara's not really harmless little creatures! The second figurine from left shows the pure model by Jaime Hayon for the collaborations with the artists. The porcelain figures outer left and the one outer right are 'outfitted' by Los Angeles-based multi-talent (cartoonist, toy designer, TVmovie producer...) Gary Baseman. These porcelain figures don't look harmless!

Today, Rosa Lladró from the Spanish porcelain house Lladró and Marcus Fried (Stamm store in Vienna) invited to the presentation of 'The Guest' figurines at hotel Sofitel Stephansdom in Vienna.

I came right in time for Lladró designer Susana Rodríguez' speech about the project of 'The Guest' series. The project was developed at the porcelain manufacturer's art department 'Lladró Atelier' under the artistic direction of Jaime Hayon (started his career at Fabrica, Benetton's communication research centre, in 1997). 'The Guest' is a collaborative art project and the surface of today's presented figurines was created by US artist Gary Baseman.

On occasion of Vienna Design Week, Stamm store exhibits designs of Lladró Atelier for the first time in Austria. Currently, 'The Guest' editions by Tim Biskup, Devilrobots and Gary Baseman are on view at Stamm.
