Textiles by architects and iconic furniture ...presented at the new Viennese store of German furniture manufacturer Löffler. The label cooperates with designers like Marc Newson whose Orgone Chair (image below) is exclusively produced by Löffler. On occasion of the opening of the store on 16 September 2014 in Vienna, the furniture company released the special edition of customized chairs with individually chosen textiles from the collection of Austrian fabric producer Backhausen which is known for collaborations with artists, designers and architects. The textile of the office chair (on view on this page, image right) carries the name 'Wave Circles' and was designed by the Austrian architects Coop Himmelb(l)au. For its qualities in design (architectural forms of surfaces of Coop Himmelb(l)au buildings translated as pattern for jacquard weaving) and fibre composition (flame-resistant Trevira CS), the 'Wave Circles' received the Red Dot Design Award 2014. 'Wave Circles' is only one design from the architects' 'Circles'-collection which consists of 14 designs and color variations; 'Wave Circles' for example is available in four color variations from white/beige to black/silver. fig. right: Löffler office chair customized with 'Wave Circles' textile design by Coop Himmelb(l)au for Backhausen, 2014.
