Today on 23 June 2014, Vienna Fashion Week announced that the show by German designer Michael Michalsky will be the opening event of this year's MQ Vienna Fashion Week on 10 September 2014. Until 14 September, around 70 international and national design labels will present their latest collections at the MQ - Museumsquartier in Vienna.

Correction on 4 July: Michalsky's show is scheduled for 8 September.

Michael Michalsky is one of the most popular designers in Germany. Before he started his own label 'Michalsky', he worked for Levi's and then for adidas. The French/German TV-channel Arte contributed him a portrait which is published (with English voice over) on his website. He is known for contributing his collections to social themes and questions of today's society. The current SS2014 collection (men and women) is entitled 'Sweet Freedom' and is about the development of individual freedom and control institutions of society.
