Fashion and art at 'The Art of Pink' event and auction series at Peninsula hotels around the world in 2015

Recently, Peninsula hotels presented the artists of the upcoming 'The Art of Pink' events in Asia, US, Europe on occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness month which is held internationally during October. The Peninsula in Pink campaign has started in 2010 and collected already over 500,000 USD for local breast cancer organizations. Now in its 5th year, Peninsula re-named the campaign into 'The Art of Pink' and collaborates with designers and artists for the creation of special theme-related 'pink' artworks. Some of 'The Art of Pink' creators and events are closely connected to fashion and beauty.

Chinese visual artist Chen Man (born 1980 in Beijing) works as fashion photographer for magazines like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar (behind the scenes video from the cover shooting with Rihanna) and director (such as for MAC Cosmetics). Her art photographs and paintings were exhibited already around the world. This month, Harper's Bazaar China August issue was released with the Chinese photography superstar Chen Man herself on the cover. For Peninsula Shanghai's 'The Art of Pink' campaign, Chen Man will provide a special pink-themed Chinese calligraphy artwork which will be exhibited through October and later auctioned during a dinner on 5 November. Charity partner is the China Breast Cancer Foundation.

Every hotel (Beijing, Bangkok, Paris, New York...) has its own event strategy. In Tokyo, where four pink hand-knit wirebags by Izumi Ogino (Creative Director of the Italian brand Anteprima) will come to auction already on 19 October during an invitation-only dinner, a 'pink'-event series including champagne-brunch and beauty-spa will be organized. In Chicago, money will be fundraised for the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation during a 'Pink Tea' fashion show with auction of the special artwork by Korean artist, architect, designer Choi Jeong Hwa on 9 October. And Peninsula Hong Kong for example will partner with auction house Christie's for a gala and live auction of pink-themed art objects and items by luxury maisons.

It's announced that information about 'The Art of Pink' initiatives with photos, videos, etc will be released in October on peninsula.com/pink.
