16 December 2015 Today at the press conference on occasion of next year's Wiener Festwochen (from 13 May until 19 June 2016, Vienna), the artistic team Markus Hinterhäuser (Artistic Director and one of two Executive Directors) and Marina Davydova (Head of Drama Department) presented the program which reaches from theatre productions over interactive visitor/art performances to exhibitions. "Theatre is a place of freedom" stated theater scientist, author, journalist, Head of Drama Department of Wiener Festwochen 2016 Marina Davydova and introduced into the upcoming festival and its social political productions which can magnify the perception and understanding of today's world such as - probably - the theatre play 'Cittą del Vaticano' (world premiere on 20 May) about religion and the young European generation. fig.: Marina Davydova, Wiener Festwochen 2016 Head of Drama Department, in front of the new Wiener Festwochen 2016 motif of a butterfly under a loupe (illustration by artist Olaf Olsen).
