12 November 2015 Next year on 16 July, the Fisherman's Friend StrongmanRun will happen for the fourth time in Austria, and for the second time in Flachau in Salzburg. The obstacle race (since 2007) is held in various European countries almost the whole year through such as in Switzerland in January 2016, Italy in May or Luxemburg in October; last year in 2014, more than 42.000 people joined the races in seven countries. In 2015 in Austria, around 2.000 participated in the obstacle run which consists of zones with lengths for running and barriers which must be overcome by climbing, jumping or crawling; the course goes through water and dirt (video of this year's race; some runners wear creative costumes such as the group in pink or the punk-rock styled). The minimal length of a course at the Fisherman's Friend StrongmanRun 2016 in Austria is 10 km; the starting places for 10 and 20 km are limited; applications are possible from 14 November (12:00) on strongmanrun.at. |
