ISPO opened call for 'Textrends 2017' and presents first views of 2018/19 trends for textiles, colors of active wear

ISPO Munich has opened the call for companies for the 'Textrends 2017' (5 - 8 February 2017) on textrends.ispo.com. Application deadline is the 30th October 2016. The submissions will be selected by a jury after quality criteria which can be summarized with the word 'trendy'. 'Trend' is defined after the fair organizer's research results of factors like fabric developments, colors, manufacturing techniques, as well as consumer behavior, global economic situation and cultural influences of film, music, art.

Together with the information about the opening of the call for 'Textrends 2017', ISPO provides trend research results concerning 2018/19. Fashion and textile design specialist and trend researcher Louisa Smith monitored the global textile industry and elaborated color charts and textile trends with main focus on clothing for an active lifestyle for various 'Target Markets' - from Iron Man, marathon sportswear over clothing for snow sports like ski cycling, skiing, etc, yoga, pilates to street sports and fashionable athleisure. It's inspirational to dive into the report which contains mentions of new developments such as "Nano technology membranes and finishes", "Reactive fabrics that respond to impact for protection with locked-in zones", or fabric constructions which interplay with light. The trends are published on textrends.ispo.com/en/Trends/Trends-Fall-Winter-2018-2019/.
