Prof. DI Dr. Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger, scientist (fields: gender, diversity) and first female rector of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU - Wirtschaftsuniversität), received this year's awards 'Tyrolean of the Year'. The prize was handed out with Swarovski crystal 'Rising Star' trophies.

The annual prize is symbolized with the 'Rising Star' crystal sculpture by the Tyrolean company Swarovski and honors exceptional personalities and their achievements such as Klaus Heidegger who developed together with his wife Jami Morse the global brand Kiehl's from the father in law's pharmacy in Manhattan, New York.
