Dance artist Tino Sehgal collaborates with ImPulsTanz

From 14 July until 14 August, Vienna's international dance festival 'ImPulsTanz' will happen at various locations through the city. Some performances were already made public (complete program will be online from 1 June) and the list of teachers of the more than 200 workshops are published (complete workshop program from 29 April); details about the research projects are also announced for the end of this month. From the last two mentioned, there is only one program point which is described closer; it's the workshops & research series 'visual arts X dance' in collaboration with dancer, choreographer, visual artist Tino Sehgal who interacts in his performances with art works (such as at MCAChicago; Guggenheim New York) and art spaces (won 'Golden Lion' for Best Artist award at Biennale di Venezia 2013). Specifically for ImPulsTanz 2016, Tino Sehgal elaborated 'Encounters - under - Construction' which will happen during five weeks in collaboration with Austrian art spaces. It's announced that dance, performance will be mixed with research activities concerning social, political and artistic questions of our time.

Additionally to Tino Sehgal's 'visual arts X dance' activities, the artist is mentor of the danceWEB scholarship program 2016 and contributes his know how with a workshop series about interrelations between dance and visual arts.
