Vienna Design Week started its first ever Kickstarter campaign for an urban design guide through the city

Vienna Design Week's first ever Kickstarter campaign started recently on 29 April and will run until 30 May. It's announced that the book (German/English) 'Stadtarbeit – Ten Years of Design Featuring the City' will be released in September 2016. The book will contain reviews of the last years of Vienna Design Week and will present design-based urban development strategies; 'Stadtarbeit' is created as city guide for the exploration of Vienna. The Kickstarter campaign is accompanied by videos; one shows Vienna Design Week Director Lilli Hollein who introduces into the publication and the other video is about the graphical work by Alexander Kada. The urban design guide through Vienna is available for a reduced price as pre-order on Kickstarter where the publication can also be supported with the purchase of tickets for the Vienna Design Week Afterparty or the festival's tote bag.

The image shows one of this year's anniversary logos of Vienna Design Week which will happen in 2016 for the tenth time (30 September and 9 October; around 150 events). Art director Christof Nardin and photographer Markus Guschelbauer were inspired by this year's headquarters in the former Bothe & Ehrmann exhibition halls at Schlossgasse - and candy as tribute to the 10th anniversary. The visual designs of logos and campaigns are changing annually together with the festival address in conjunction with Vienna Design Week's focus region. In 2016, it will be headquartered (Infopoint, pop-up office, pop-up café...) in one of the hubs' of the city's creative industries, in the district Margareten.
