14 January 2016 The initiation of the Vienna Fashion Museum Yesterday, Vienna Fashion Museum invited to the laying of the foundation stone of the - in the first step - virtual collection of Viennese fashion pieces from the last 20 years and Fashionoffice followed the event to the AIL (Angewandte Innovation Laboratory of the University of Applied Arts) at Franz-Josefs-Kai 3 where currently an exhibition about the various aspects of fashion such as labour conditions, exploitation, consumerism, etc is on view. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue-magazine with the title 'Garderobe' which was launched also yesterday. The place and theme of the 'Garderobe' show matched perfectly to the idea of Vienna Fashion Museum which makes aware that clothing, shoes, accessories, or bags are more than short-living goods but - and especially when the design and material quality is better - long-lasting impressions which are literally durable; even the impression one makes on others. Before the shooting of the first inventory numbers for the virtual museum started, Fashionoffice took the chance and captured an image of the initiator of the Vienna Fashion Museum Lena Kvadrat together with her husband Wolfgang at the photo booth. The first images from yesterday's shooting of the first inventory pieces are already online on viennafashionmuseum.com. |
