The Museum of Modern Art Vienna (Mumok) presents two upcoming events with art by Hans Schabus: a café installation and an art-dance workshop

Two upcoming events at Mumok Vienna are presenting art by Austrian artist Hans Schabus - in the one and other way. The first event happens on 27 December (FB event) at the art installation 'Café Hansi' described as 'fantastic-crazy bar' at the website of Vienna-based research and documentation center for modern and contemporary art basis-wien.at. (The mentioned research database is currently probably one of the most accurate collections of information about Austrian artists.)

Café Hansi is more than an installation which can be used by visitors; it's a sort of Gesamtkunstwerk which incorporates the life experiences of the artist manifested as posters or other objects collected by Hans Schabus as well as the museum's visitors as part of a quasi art performance happening inside. Hans Schabus directed even the communication of the waiter who serves beverages like wine, beer or water in the artist's special designed tableware.

The second event where Hans Schabus' art intervenes at The Museum of Modern Art Vienna is at next year's first edition of the 'mumok moves' series where changing dancer & artist couples will guide workshops for museum visitors. The interactive artist-dancer-visitor performances are a cooperation between ImpulsTanz and Mumok. On 17 January, Hans Schabus will team up with Philipp Gehmacher; registration is already open at impulstanz.com.
