Inside the café, the visitor will find a glamorously mirrored interior with drinking vessels designed by Hans Schabus. Insights into the café on mumok.at. Photo: © mumok/Foto: Lisa Rastl. Café Hansi is more than an installation which can be used by visitors; it's a sort of Gesamtkunstwerk which incorporates the life experiences of the artist manifested as posters or other objects collected by Hans Schabus as well as the museum's visitors as part of a quasi art performance happening inside. Hans Schabus directed even the communication of the waiter who serves beverages like wine, beer or water in the artist's special designed tableware. The second event where Hans Schabus' art intervenes at The Museum of Modern Art Vienna is at next year's first edition of the 'mumok moves' series where changing dancer & artist couples will guide workshops for museum visitors. The interactive artist-dancer-visitor performances are a cooperation between ImpulsTanz and Mumok. On 17 January, Hans Schabus will team up with Philipp Gehmacher; registration is already open at impulstanz.com. |
