Each kilometer tracked by Runtastic of participants of the 'Run For The Oceans' charity by adidas and Parley will be weighed with 1.- USD for environmental education

From 8 June (World Oceans Day) until 8 July, runners who are interested in combining sports activities and active environmental protection can join the 'Run For The Oceans' charity by adidas and Parley. adidas will weigh in each kilometer tracked digitally (Runtastic download on adidas.com/Parley) with 1.- USD up to one million km and will donate the money to the Parley Ocean Plastic Program. On takeaction.parley.tv, the youth environmental education program is described closer.

Runners are called to invite friends all over the world to join the initiative by using the hashtag #RunForTheOceans. Via the Runtastic group 'Run For The Oceans', runners can join communities worldwide.

It's not the first time that the German sportswear label adidas and the marine plastic pollution initiative Parley collaborate. Since 2015, adidas uses material recycled from plastic for products under the name 'adidas X Parley'; earlier this year, the partners launched the Spring/Summer 2018 swimwear line made of fishnets. On occasion of the 'Run For The Oceans' project, adidas will present from 8 June (online) and 27 June (stores worldwide) footwear inspired by the ecological purpose in the colors of the crystal clear ocean and made in parts (around 11 plastic bottles for one pair) of Parley Ocean Plastic.
