5 September 2018 On 9 September at Ars Electronica Festival for Art, Technology and Society in Linz (Upper Austria), the film about dementia with the title 'merk|würdig' by the Austrian film team Krmpf Krmpf Studios will be shown. The German title 'merk|würdig' could be read as 'strange' as well as 'worth to remember' and makes think of the feelings and situation of members of a family and the patient who have to learn to live with the disease dementia. The film uses 3D technology which allows to watch the story with special glasses from two perspectives. The 'stereonarrativity' of 'merk|würdig' is accompanied by music composed and sound designed by students of the master program 'Music for Applied Media' at Danube University Krems. The challenge for the sound designers, music composers Manuel Brandtner, Ingo Budweg, Hua-Chun (Fion) Fan, Richard Pleil under the guidance of course director Miguel Kertsman was the creation of an audio landscape for two simultaneously running narrations which evoke various emotions. 'merk|würdig' will be presented under the theme 'Future of Cinema' after the panel discussion about new ways to experience film. fig.: Campaign image of the film 'merk|würdig' by Krmpf Krmpf Studios; premiere happened on 13 January 2018 at Hollywood Megaplex PlusCity in Pasching/Linz, Upper Austria.
