'Plastic Free Clinic' research results and future strategies by the University of Agricultural Sciences Vienna, Institute of Waste Management, commissioned by 'Institut Eltz'

Vienna-based dental clinic specialized on the correction of tooth misalignments 'Institut Eltz' and the University of Agricultural Sciences Vienna (Department of Water, Atmosphere and Environment, Institute of Waste Management) teamed up for an applied research project and presented their findings with practical solutions for reducing waste and plastics at the daily work for dental health. Thanks to the project, Institut Eltz will save in future around 100 kilo plastics per year. The results of the research and the future strategies are published at eltz.info. Gudrun Obersteiner, University of Agricultural Sciences Vienna provides insights into the research and the application of best practises such as 

  • using reusable instead of disposable plastic cups
  • spring water instead of water from plastic bottles (Austria has high quality tap water) 
  • refillable soap dispenser
  • and several further improvements concerning medical instruments.
