15 November 2019 Fashion.at looked through the latest tips for skiing & recreation in thermal water spas published by the team of the service platform of the Austrian Tourist Office Austria.info and found a destination that combines culture, sport, wellness, music events, and currently an offer by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) with special prices for the entry (ÖBB Plus) to a thermal bath which is built into rocks: Bad Gastein and its Felsentherme. The town has a long tradition in tourism which is reflected by buildings in Belle Époque architecture. Especially the thermal water treatments attracted the visitors from aristocracy and the rich upper class of the 19th century. Bad Gastein is a forerunner in the democratization of tourism by making sport & therapy accessible for everyone; an own health resort was opened for the public as 'Felsenbad' in 1968, later renamed to 'Felsentherme' (history). fig.: Felsentherme Bad Gastein, Salzburg, Austria. At this year's ski opening festival 'Sound & Snow' on 14 December, one of Austria's most popular musicians RAF Camora (released recently the new album 'Zenit') will perform live at the Schlossalmbahn in Bad Hofgastein. |
