8 October 2019 The 'Channel' chair by Austrian designer Klemens Schillinger is inspired by the Bauhaus 'Frankfurter Stuhl' and Viennese bentwood coffee house chairs. It's one of the winners of the 'Future Forward' competition by the traveling design fair and shopping event Blickfang which pops up soon for three days from 25 to 27 October at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna. Klemens Schillinger - he received last year the 'Swarovski Award for Excellence in Austrian Design' for intervention-like interactions with space (article), counts to the country's new talents in product design. The Blickfang 'Future Forward' winners have the chance to present their works at the fair for free and will get professional contacts with industry experts. The competition for a presentation at Blickfang in Vienna, Stuttgart, Zürich is already closed. Currently, the competition for the Future Forward awards concerning free trade fair participation in Hamburg, Basel and personal intensive coaching is still running; deadline is the 15th of November.
