28 February 2019 How traditional Austrian folk costumes look like is on view at the image by Johannes Sautner of the photographer and stylist duo 'Shoot+Style' specialized in the field active lifestyle, sport. Leather pants were in former times used by Austrian men as workwear similar to jeans worn by US gold diggers in the mid-19th century. Today, traditional leather pants are - such as jeans - normally worn by men and women as well. According to the text information of the announcement, it's not obligatory for women to wear a dirndl to get the skiing pass for a lower price; it's also not explicitly obligatory for men to wear pants. From 1 to 7 April during the 'Lederhosen Wedel Week', Zillertal Arena offers under the code word 'Lederhose' (German word for leather pants) a 3+1 skiing pass which means a three-day skiing pass including one free ski day when wearing a traditional folk costume - dirndl or leather pants. And then there is a second offer which can be used when folk costumes are worn. On the day of the 'Lederhosen Wedel Party' on 6 April, people in dirndl, leather pants get the skiing pass for a lower price; kids up to 18 years will ski for free. fig.: Visualizer of the folk costume spring skiing events from 1 to 7 April 2019 at the Zillertal Arena in Tyrol, Austria.
