Fashion.at tip for an adventure tour with kids in Vienna: Schönbrunn Zoo

Today, the new more tightened Covid-19 measures were made public by the Austrian government for preventing harder measures such as a lockdown as it happens already in other European cities, selected regions and even whole countries. The new rules are effective from Friday this week and concern especially the limitation of the amount of social contacts indoor (6 persons) and outdoor (12 persons). Older people are better in organising their lives in accordance with the current health protecting measures. For younger ones and especially children it isn't easy to understand the threat of the virus and the ongoing situation in regional communities and worldwide economics.

One of the places where children find edutainment (education and entertainment) in an area where social distancing is easily possible is the Schönbrunn Zoo (Tiergarten Schönbrunn) in Vienna. It's the world's oldest zoo (1752) still in existence. The area of the zoo isn't extensive but large enough to get lost when the tour isn't planned well. At the zoo's website zoovienna.at, the animals are listed with description and location (Google map). Calculate around two or three hours for a tour through the zoo. Some of the animals are great performers!

Fashion.at visited the zoo recently by taking the fastest route from the Hietzinger Tor along the glass & steel building; it's worth planning around one additional hour for the visit of the house with exotic plants as well.
