A first look at the venues and participants of Vienna Design Week from 22 September until 1 October

The annual Vienna Design Week has released the first glimpses of this year's headquarters and impressions of projects by participants in the festival's 'Platform' format, which happens at various locations throughout the city. Platform participants range from lifestyle brands like the mineral water company Vöslauer, which is known for its collaborations with designers, to museums, institutions and organizations such as designaustria, which organizes exhibitions and competitions like the Austrian State Prize for Design (Staatspreis Design), or craft and design studios like prater&stern, located in this year's focus district, the Leopoldstadt, Vienna's 2nd district.

About 8 minutes by bike from the textile workshop 'prater&stern' is the headquarters of this year's design week. The former magdas hotel in Vienna's Prater district is currently being transformed into the festival's headquarters and main venue. During Vienna Design Week, the magdas hotel will serve as a central hub where the local and international design community, residents, visitors of all ages and schoolchildren will gather. The venue offers various spaces, including the lobby, rooms with scenic views, a garden, and a former canteen kitchen.

The program details aren't published yet on viennadesignweek.at (fast checked by Fashion.at today). It's announced that more information will be dropped continuously on the festival's website.
