Vienna Art Week 2023 'Inciting Passion' inclusive, barrier-free program schedule is online

The Vienna Art Week runs this year from 10 to 17 November under the motto 'Inciting Passion'. The VAW team has programmed a series of guided tours that provide access to inspiring works of art from a variety of disciplines and epochs, allowing people with visual impairments, for example, to get in touch with the objects.

Under the title 'Vienna Art Week for Everyone', the inclusive program is published, starting with a tour at the Kunsthistorisches Museum on 10 November, which will be guided by a sign language interpreter who will also support the discussion about the objects. In the program, each tour is announced with further details - for example, in the case of the barrier-free shuttle tours to and through artists' studios during the Open Studio Days, information on which artists will be visited. It's already possible to register online (free of charge).

The inclusion of people into the arts and culture sector is the topic of the program's panel discussion on 13 November at the MuseumsQuartier with experts from various fields such as art-activism advocating for an inclusive society, the administration of cultural institutions, and experts in barrier-free arts education and digital inclusion. The discussion will be moderated by Doris Rothauer, whose 'Museums Guide inklusiv' directory of Austrian museums with information on barrier-free access, inductive hearing systems, etc. was released earlier this year (article).

The program can be found at https://www.viennaartweek.at/de/fueralle/.
