Alex Kiessling Explores the Constructs of Self and Reality in New ‘Entities’ Exhibition at Vienna’s X Club

Vienna's art scene is set to experience a fusion of contemporary creativity and exclusive ambiance as Austrian artist Alex Kiessling unveils his latest exhibition, "Entities," at the X Club on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

The X Club: Vienna's Exclusive Creative Hub

Nestled in the heart of Vienna at Wollzeile 19, the X Club is renowned for its members-only policy, offering a unique blend of postmodern American bar aesthetics and a vibrant dance club atmosphere. Designed in collaboration with de Sede, the club provides an intimate setting for artistic and cultural events, making it a sought-after venue for Vienna's creative community.

Alex Kiessling: Bridging Art and Technology

Born in Vienna in 1980, Alex Kiessling studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and has established himself as a multifaceted artist, skilled in painting, graphics, sculpture, 3D art, video and photography. His work delves into the intersection of reality and imagination, often exploring themes of identity, transformation, and perception. Kiessling is particularly noted for integrating traditional art forms with advanced technologies, such as 3D printing and laser techniques, to create pieces that challenge conventional artistic boundaries.

'Entities': A Journey Through Identity and Perception

In "Entities," Kiessling invites viewers to contemplate the essence of existence and the fluidity of identity. The exhibition features a series of hybrid creations that blur the lines between the real and the imagined, prompting audiences to question the stability of perception and the nature of transformation. By merging various mediums, Kiessling crafts an immersive experience that encourages reflection on the constructs of self and reality.

The opening event for invited and registered guests will commence at 7 p.m. and will feature remarks from Elsy Lahner, deputy chief curator for contemporary art at the Albertina Museum. Attendees can also look forward to a live DJ set by DJ Cali. The artist will be present to engage with guests, offering insights into his creative process and the inspirations behind "Entities."
