This exhibition, which runs from February 15 to June 29, highlights Corbijn's iconic portraits of artists from music, film, literature, and fashion, as well as his contributions to music videos, artist books, set designs, album covers, and archival materials. The aim is to present a comprehensive view of Corbijn's five-decade-long artistic journey and to analyze his visual strategies, often inspired by Christian iconography and art history. Kunstforum Wien's Future Secured Amid Uncertainty In recent times, the Kunstforum faced uncertainties regarding its future operations. Reports in the Austrian media speculated about potential closures. However, the institution has secured financial support for the next months, ensuring that its exhibition program continues uninterrupted. Upcoming Marina Abramovic Retrospective Looking ahead, the Kunstforum has announced a retrospective of Marina Abramovic, scheduled from October 2, 2025, to January 18, 2026. The exhibition will feature re-performances of some of Abramovic's original works, offering visitors an immersive experience into her groundbreaking performances. A Guest List Filled with Vienna's Cultural and Business Elite The opening event for "Favourite Darkness" is anticipated to be a significant cultural gathering. Fashion.at has received a preview of the guest list, which includes Vienna's cultural and business elite as well as international guests such as actor and photographer Lars Eidinger. Gartenbaukino's Film Series Celebrating Corbijn As a complement to the exhibition, the Gartenbaukino movie theater will present "IN CONTROL: THE FILMS OF ANTON CORBIJN," with a series of films such as "The American" (2010) or "A Most Wanted Man" (2014) from February 13 to 27, 2025. This retrospective offers audiences the chance to delve into Corbijn's cinematic works and gain a deeper understanding of his artistic vision.
