Slender and lonely, they teetered about in space. One could see spindly legs, little gawky arms, small, at times childlike heads. Some of their gestures were lascivious. The majority of the bodies seemed sweet, erotic and tender. An eroticism that remained tentative and without goal. The theme of observation and self-observation was already a central feature of her artistic production in 1993. Over the years it remained programmatic. Together with the artist, the Kunsthalle has created a retrospective based around thirty large photographs, numerous polaroids, two films, and several hundred of her early drawings. next>>>
