Fashion for the Millennium from 70 of the Hottest Emerging Designers, Photographers and Illustrators


New York, NY - Gen Art will present The State of Fashion on Thursday, November 18th at the Altman Building at 135 West 18th Street. This unique event will reveal the vision for fashion in the coming millennium from the best of today’s rising fashion industry talent. The evening will feature an exhibition of innovative fashion photography, illustration and accessories designs, plus a live presentation of fashion by womenswear and menswear designers, ranging from sportswear to the avant garde. This state-of-the-art event is being presented by TimesSquare2000.com.

Gen Art’s The State of Fashion will reveal the futuristic vision for fashion from those who will be defining style in the 21st century. The evening will begin at 7:30pm with a pre-reception and exhibit of visionary works from 15 emerging fashion photographers and illustrators and 10 accessories designers. At 8:30 the live fashion presentation will feature one visionary look each from 40 of the most innovative emerging designers. More than 700 members of the fashion industry and press are expected to attend.

Participating talent includes womenswear designers Antilika, Benjamin Cho, Epperson, Garo Sparo, John Doe, Lionel Peralta, Mark Montano, Matthew Nowomlynski, Micheal Akers, Primal Stuff, Vilma Mare; menswear designers Daniel Maloney, Icarus, Rod Gonzalo; and Accessories designers Body Pocket, Claudia Rapisarda, Isadora Story, Ivy Supersonic, Rafe, and Sara Samiloff. The exhibit of photography and illustration will include Johnny B, Alex Freund, Patty Lehan, Misa Martin, Mitchell McCormick, Yu-Kuang, Kim Dimarco, Robert Anderson and Rene Habermacher.

Gen Art is a national non-profit organization which showcases emerging talent in film, fashion and the visual arts. Since 1995, Gen Art has been the premier organization supporting emerging fashion talent and has helped launch the careers of ready-to-wear designers Rebecca Danenberg, Rebecca Taylor, ORFI, Shoshanna, Chaiken & Capone and William Calvert, as well as accessory designers Eugenia Kim, Frou by Paige Novick and Patch.
