GLOOM fall/winter 2007 shop at www.gloom.at Felizitas Auersperg, founder and owner of the design shop GLOOM in Vienna, Austria, presents since 15 years national and international emerging designers in her shop. In May 2007 Felizitas travelled to the mountains. She was searching for adventures and found them in Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand: she met there the AKHA women! AKHA is a clan from Tibet who lives today in the mountains of Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Thailand. Women wear headdresses rich bejewelled with silver buttons, coins and balls. The outfits which consist of a jacket, skirt, scarf, and a special leg wear are decorated with embroideries and textile applications; black and indigo are the main colors. Felizitas Auersperg brought some of the traditional AKHA skirts and bags to Vienna and upgraded the skirts with a comfortable lining. more design>>>
