"FAIRYTALES"

In April 2008 Australian designer Kanchi's new collection inspired by fairytales and architecture will premiere during the Australian Fashion Week. Sydney based Kanchi Williams, the owner of the company Design by Kanchi, names it herself the most amazing collection to date. The designer creates a dramatic and mysterious dream of texture and structure.

Q: To which fairytales do you refer?

Kanchi: "For this collection I was inspired by all fairytales. I have always been fascinated by the stories and the beautiful dresses of the princesses in fairytales. The designs are named to reflect this "Cinderella", "Castle", "Magician" etc."

Q: Have you been inspired by a special architectural style or building?

Kanchi: "The collection is also influenced by Art Deco architecture and especially a photo of an old building in Paris, this formed the neckline on one of my designs!"
