Advanced Minority selected at the poolbar::style::award 2008 On 4th July 2008 the international „artist driven brand“ Advanced Minority (more than 150 artists with base in Barcelona & Vienna) presents its work for the poolbar festival at the "Advanced Minority Artwalk" with live-sound by the Viennese underground band Bunny Lake in Vorarlberg, Austria. On 1st May 2008 the collection premiered at the "Advanced Minority Artwalk" in Vienna, Austria. The artists of Advanced Minority transferred their works from painting, photography, tattoo-art, illustration,.. by screen printing onto t-shirts, especially designed for the 15th anniversary of the poolbar-festival. The 15 t-shirts are a "retrospective" of 15 years of concerts, style, party,... fig: "style 2004 postmodern" t-shirt. Illustration by C. Peyfuss, 2008. Founders are David Merö and Gabor Merö; the artists come from all the world; they are the creative directors of their work. Question: Since when does poolbar present clothing?
Clothing exclusively designed for poolbar exists since many years. It started with seasonal poolbar illustrations printed (mostly screen printed) on vintage fashion from the 60s, 70s, collected by the poolbar team. 2004 was the first year that designers have been invited to create bags exclusively for poolbar. The annual poolbar::style::award started in 2004: designer are invited to send their prototypes. In 2008 Advanced Minority has sent the best pieces. This was the reason why they have been chosen by poolbar to create the t-shirts for the 15th anniversary of the festival. Question: How many artists have created illustrations for the 15 piece collection? The 15 t-shirts are created by 8 artists (Daniela Preißegger, Constantin Peyfuss, David Mascha, Emilone, Valence, Malotta, Matt Cipov, Max Grün (ring King). The next call for the poolbar::style::award Advanced Minority produces limited editions. They say about themselves "a brand like a museum". On their website you can read: "imagine the web 2.0 philosophy put onto a real product. social networking, creative communications, cosmopolitan crowd.". Every artist gets an own subdomain, profile-space,... www.advancedminority.com |
