SWIMS Mobster
fall/winter 2008/9
Seduce the Rain!
Is this Johan Ringdal's motto?
The Norwegian designer of Swims created the modern galosh, a rubber overshoe from the late 1800’s Londoner/New Yorker gentleman. Johan has already won the Norwegian Design Excellence award with this product which comes for women (Ballerina) and men (Classic and as a boot with the name Mobster) in orange, yellow, brown, purple, grey, black.
John Ringdal, who grew up in Norway and studied at the Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York City, developed this modern galosh after rainy days in Paris and New York and many ruined pair of shoes.
fig.: The black Swim Mobster on this picture is also available in grey. The interior lining polishes your shoes while you are walking!
The revolutionary reinvention of the rubber overshoe from the late 1800’s comes in three sizes (M, L, XL for men and S, M, L for women) and protects your stylish footwear whenever you need it.
"We have taken the concept one step further and added an element of timeless design, playfulness and improved functionality. Swims allow you to wear your favorite shoes regardless of weather conditions, while at the same time providing a stylish look. Slip ‘em on before walking wet, muddy and snowy streets. Slip ’em off when you arrive, having shiny and clean shoes for the indoor occasion." Swims
You will find on the Swims website even an innovative umbrella with automatic up- and down-function in retro shape and inspired by a walking-stick (!) www.swims.com.
