UNRATH & STRANO
spring/summer 2009
Premiere of the Celebrity collection and the first men's styles
On 18 July 2008 Berlin based designers Klaus Unrath and Ivan Strano have presented their new Unrath & Strano spring/summer 2009 collection during the Berlin Fashion Week. On this day the designers celebrated two premieres: for the first time, the designers present
men’s fashions and the young secondary line "UNRATH &
STRANO Celebrity" hits the catwalk.
"UNRATH & STRANO Celebrity"
The Celebrity collection aims a younger crowd. Therefore the designers use comfortable, practical fabrics such as printed cotton, denim and rayon. The satiny finish brings the glam effect into the every day wear.
As Klaus Unrath says: “We wanted to make clothes
that are unfussy and affordable, but still feature the sophisticated cuts we are known for.”
The Orchid Print
fig.: You will find two print highlights in this collection: one of them is the orchid print such as on the dress on the right photo and on the t-shirt of the casual men's outfit with jeans and military inspired jacket on the left image. The orchids are overprinted on geometrical - mostly striped - pattern in red - white - black - silver. Very interesting is the cut of the shoulders of this dress with voluminous sleeves - you will even it find on the next photo (snake printed pant suit): two bands are draped in cross in the tradition of the kimono-design which is reduzed to its essential.
The Snake Print
fig.: The second eye catching print is the snake print. The both designers have used the snake print in several collections (and on cars!) in the years before, so it seems as if this is one of the signature prints of Unrath & Strano.
The Men's Collection
fig.: The men's collection includes
about twenty items, ranging from casual jeans and denim jackets to more classic blazers,
blousons, shirts and slacks.
Accessories
The designers have extended its range of accessories: you will find belts, large silk
foulards and bags.
Very prêt-à-porter!
Simple shirts and shorties as underclothes and
swimwear in powerful shades such as red, neon pink and gold make it easy to wear Unrath & Strano.
The focus of the collection is still on couture gowns with luxurious shoes for the red-carpet entrance.
The Designers
