Fashion of Parisian bikers

Parisian designer Delphine Murat presents the collection of biker leggings, socks, shorts, and tights in combination with tank tops, mini dresses, blousons entitled 'Legs de Delphine Murat' for fall/winter 2009/10. The special lines come in the colors nude/grass green and nude/ocean blue (Warrior lines), the most colorful is the Arabesque line in deep red/black/nude, the Biker pieces reflect the asphalt in grey/nude (image on this page)...

Question: Why is one of your lines called 'Biker'?

Delphine Murat: Our Biker line is inspired by Riders; by the freedom it implicates, and the modernity through time and space. The idea is to bring to the legs another universe, anchored in dynamism, modernity and energy, some very important notions for our brand.

Question: The Delphine Murat shop is in the Rue Saint Roch in Paris. Are many of your customers using bikes or motorcycles for going shopping? Would you say that riding on bikes in capital cities such as Paris or London became trendy in the last years?

Delphine Murat: It is true that it has become trendy for Parisians to take their bike to go shopping and to work. One of the main reason concerns ecology of course, but yet, it is very trendy, pleasant and also 'vintage' to use your bike.

In her spring/summer collection 2009 'Sport Deluxe' Delphine Murat focuses on sportive and practicable outfits such as 'le legging' which enhances the anatomy of the legs, and the wearable sporty bag 'Pack Z Rain'. Delphine Murat has studied at Studio Berçot. She has worked for Alexander McQueen chez Givenchy, Martine Sitbon and Thierry Mugler.
