The label HOTEL was founded in April 2000 by the design duo of Ingken Benesch and Kai Duenhoelter. Both designer draw inspiration for their label from personal surroundings and, influenced by the ever-growing medial culture they develop their line with a multi-cultural aspect. A strong factor of inspiration is the discourse with artists from other fields of culture, such as photographers, Video-artists, musicians and performers, and the subsequent interaction.
