The characters in AMERICAN PSYCHO are captive to 1987's fashion. Costume designer ISIS MUSSENDEN describes the late 80ies look as much bigger than now and with shoulders using a lots of pads. When Bateman (Christan Bale), a handsome young urban professional is feeling powerful, he wears a RED TIE, and a shirt with bold stripes.
