Patti Smith (born 1946, Chicago), one of the founders of the New York punk-rock scene, became in the late 60ies with her androgynous and provocative
style an icon of the underground scene. The exhibition gives with visual works from 1967
to 2007 (photographs, drawings, films) an insight
into Patti Smith's lyrical, spiritual and poetic universe. You can hear her expressive voice while walking through the visual installations.

photos: Patti Smith began to take
photographs in 1967 for use in collages. In
1995, she returned to photography using a
vintage Polaroid Land 250: “The immediacy
of the process was a relief from the long
involved process of drawing, recording, or
writing a poem."
