MALICK
SIDIBÉ Malick Sidibé was born in 1936 in Soloba, in the south of the French Sudan, today Mali. Boxer, 1966 His talent
for drawing was discovered at an early age, and he moved to Bamako, the
capital of the country, in order to develop his qualities. In the mid-fifties,
the French photographer Gérard Guillat, recognising his ability,
asked him to design the interior of his “Photo Service” studio
and then later chose him as his apprentice. Malick Sidibé came
there into contact with the concepts and techniques of photography and
started out on his professional path. |
