The Greek philosopher Diogenes (412 - 323 BC) was known for his cynism: he searched with a lantern in the daylight for honest humans. When Alexander the Great (356-323 BC) met Diogenes, the conquerer asked what he could do for him. Diogenes replied, "Stand out of my sunshine".
