Underwear from health garment to fashion must haves
From 12 June until 27 September 2009 the exhibition 'Undercover' at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London traces the evolution of underwear from health garment, shape definer to fashion must haves. Lingerie fashionistas have the opportunity to purchase two exclusive boudoir pieces by the Italian label La Perla and support at the same time the Breast Cancer Care organisation www.breastcancercare.org.uk.
The exhibition explores a number of themes from boudoir to everyday glamour to how research and innovation has changed the way we wear our underwear.
For the Undercover exhibition, La Perla has produced a limited edition boudoir macramé mask and a leavers lace corset-style cuff to be sold exclusively at the Shop@FTM with all proceeds going to the charity Breast Cancer Care. La Perla has different collections for men, women and kids/baby. The two exclusive pieces are in the style of the most erotic, frivolous one by La Perla, the Black Label line www.laperla.com.
La Perla The little corsetry factory was founded by Ada Masotti in 1954 in
Bologna. Today La Perla is an international market leader in the underwear and
swimwear sectors.
