"It all starts with the body" says Donna Karan

...in the discussion with Dr. Valerie Steele, fashion theorist and director of The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, on occasion of the launch of the graduate program MFA in Fashion Design and Society at Parsons The New School for Design, New York.

The interdisciplinary 'Fashion Design and Society' program focuses on the 'system fashion' which is made of material resources, human capital, and artistic vision and is perceived as a cultural product. The program is supported by Parsons alumna Donna Karan who says: "What fashion is right now to me, is social consciousness".
