Eco and traveling

Traveling and eco-friendliness is not a contradiction. Fashionoffice has collected some pieces for a sportive weekend on the seaside. The underwear comes from a French label that recycles wood into silky-cashmere alike fabrics; the barefoot shoes are from a UK based, Greenpeace collaborative company, which produces and designs environmental-friendly; and the white trousers are from an international store chain that is exploring the huge possibilities for creating a fashion statement with eco smart materials.

Boxers made of recycled wood by the French organic wear label g=9.8 (the label's name references earth gravity) of Sophie Young, seen in February 2011 at the UK headquartered online shop 'By Nature', which offers pieces that value the environment. The shop was founded in 2005 after the founders have experienced on their world travels that there "were not only the CO2 emissions we created during our travels but also our general way of life dictated by consumerism." bynature.co.uk

Sophie Young publishes on the label's website g98.fr even hyperlinks to inspiring sources like eco-friendly agriculture pioneer Pierre Rabhi and insights into the ethics of the brand, which uses for the collections exclusively raw material from nature and mixes them with spandex to shape the body. kewego.com publishes an online video that provides a look inside the work space of Sophie Young with accompanying catwalk views onto the organic collection. The g=9.8 collections don't change with the seasons but with the taste.

T-shirt in cartoonish style by industrial designer Marc Newson for G-Star, SS2011. The motto of the design is the 'simplification of the line' which is realized by the seam-reduced pattern of the t-shirt. The bold orange lines look like a tailor's 'raw'-pattern construction for a shirt without armhole-seams.

Headphone 'Aviator' in black is a collaborative design by Jay-Z's music company 'Roc Nation' and Skullcandy, comes into shops in spring 2011.

Watch 'AR5921' from the 'Sportivo'-line by Emporio Armani, SS2011.

'Sokol Space Hooded Jacket' with a zipper that can be closed fully - even on the hood, where a silver mesh fabric provides visibility, designed by Marc Newson for G-Star, SS2011. The jacket shows an enlarged graphic of an astronaut’s suit.

White trousers from the 'Conscious Collection' by H&M, available from 14 April on. The 'Conscious Collection' for men, women, kids contains pieces with focus on sustainability such as organic cotton that has been grown without the use of hazardous chemicals. "It’s no longer just about organic cotton. The possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now," says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M head of design. The 'Conscious Collection' is the title of a series of collections which will be released with changing looks during the year.

Fragrance 'Champion' by Davidoff in 30 ml travel size, comes into shops in February 2011.

'Ultra' is a lightweight barefoot amphibious running shoe for women and men by Vivobarefoot, FW2011/12. The 'Ultra' is especially designed for watersports and long runs on the beach. The concept of the barefoot shoes by the eco-friendly label Vivobarefoot (sustainable materials, production, design) follows the idea to stimulate the nerve endings in the feet, the sensory perception and to improve circulation while the sole protects the feet like a normal shoe.
